Occupants Surveys

sick building syndrome survey

Is Your Building Environment Having a Poor Effect on Occupants?

The first signs of a building having poor effects on occupants are usually reports or observations of the symptoms of Sick Building Syndrome.  Employers or managers may also notice that productivity of employees is lower than expected at specific times of day or in particular parts of the building.

The first step to determining if you have a problem in your building is to test occupants and the building, for symptoms and potential causes.

People Survey

A People Survey can be carried out on occupants of the building to determine symptoms and trends of poor health and wellbeing related to the building environment.  This process is suggested in HSE Guidance on How to deal with Sick Building Syndrome, with sample surveys available from The Royal Society of Health.
